The President of the National Water Management Authority (KZGW) is a central authority of the governmental administration competent in the issues related to water management, and in particular in the issue of water management and water use. 7 regional water management boards report to the President of KZGW, their directors are also authorities of governmental administration in respect of water management in water regions. The obligations of the President of KZGW include implementation of Frame Water Directive (2000/60/WE), water management plans, water-environmental programmes and conditions of use of water. The President is also responsible for implementation of the Flood Directive (2007/60/WE), including preparation, by December  2011, of an preliminary flood risk assessment and, by December 2013, flood hazard maps and flood risk maps. These products are the subject of completion in ISOK project. The President of KZGW is also obliged to complete by December 2015 plans of flood risk management.
